A link to this story was posted on the Yahoo HD Support Club. For anyone
wanting to support this quilt project, please see the June 2nd deadline
below. I found the website for The Old Palace in Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK
[below]. This looks like a lovely facility for young people with a special
unit for those with HD!

A PATCHWORK quilt of memories and wishes will celebrate the birthday of a
nursing home. Sue Ryder Care is inviting people to send in patches with a
donation to help mark 21 years of care at The Old Palace in Ely, which helps
residents live with conditions such as Huntington's disease, multiple
sclerosis and acquired brain injuries.
Patches can be devoted to someone, something or indeed anything. Beth Rigg,
fundraiser for Sue Ryder Care, said: "The patches can be done in any way you
like, embroidered, knitted, painted, drawn on or even with a photo scanned
on."
Patches must be submitted by July 2. They will be sewn together to create a
remembrance quilt that will be hung in The Old Palace. A coffee morning on
September 1 will show off the crocheted creation.
Patches should be sent to The Old Palace, Palace Green, Ely, Cambridgeshire,
CB7 4EW. For more information or to volunteer help in sewing the quilt
together, call Beth Rigg on (01353) 663357.
The Old Palace

The Old Palace provides permanent and respite care for young, physically
disabled people and those with neurological disorders (illnesses associated
with the brain). In Cambridgeshire there is a particularly high incidence of
Huntington's disease and here in Ely we have developed particular expertise
in that area. A specialist wing on the ground floor caters specifically for
people with Huntington's disease. This unit has been specially built to
cater for the very specific needs of residents with this condition.
