Periodically I like reading some of the HDSA Chapter Newselters to see what's going on in other area's of our country and the New England Chapter has, so far, proven to be one of THE best in raising awareness and promoting advocacy for all HD families! The efforts of this group should be written up as "best practice" procedures and shared with other HDSA Chapters and HD Centers of Excellences! Speaker: Stephen Richardson is a Regional Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in New England. He has his Bachelor’s in Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1984 and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1999. As a Public Affairs Specialist, Richardson is responsible for coordinating the Social Security Administration’s public affairs/public information activities in the six New England states. He has been particularly active in the past 5 years spearheading the agency’s efforts to educate the American public about Social Security.
