This is a support group for any grandparent who has suffered the loss of a loved grandchild to SIDS. The group is run by my mother (mudrabit@bellsouth.net) and myself. The loop was originally a spin-off of the SIDSloop (now sidsloop@yahoogroups.com), which was for anyone touched by the death of a child to SIDS. It is for grandparents to freely share their feelings both for the loss, and for the anguish of watching their child endure the loss of a child. Members are free to express any feelings in a warm and safe atmosphere. The only rule is that you allow others to express themselves freely as well.
We have no set belief or creed, and all walks are welcome here. We are nondemominational. We come from all over; our one bond is the loss of a child... a grandchild wanted and loved.
Before you are welcomed into the group, you will be sent an email requesting a short biography. It is not meant to be intrusive, but is something we began as a loop, to help get to know one another. It also helps to screen the members, and keep the group safe for all. It is not meant to be intrusive. If you feel uncomfortable filling in last names or the city in which you live, please leave that off. And please know that since this is a closed group, none of your information will be shared with those outside the group. We want to keep this a warm and safe place to share.
