Description

We are the Low-Carb sister group to Graduate-OSSG. We are a group of people that have had Weight Loss Surgery and have learned that a low carbohydrate lifestyle enhances our success at losing weight and maintaining.

REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN: All those that desire to join this group must have had Weight Loss Surgery. You must submit a small introduction for approval. Please state date of surgery and what you hope to get from this group.

The goal and objective of this group is to allow the posting of daily menu's for help and for the purpose of accountability, share low carb recipe's, encourage each other, share ideas, ask questions. Members can state opinions without being harshly judged. All members are to be treated with respect, remembering that often emotions run high when
dealing with weight issues. Be patient and courteous, please.

GUIDELINES:
It is important to point out that, for most people, the only foods that are NEVER allowed on a low-carbohydrate diet are those containing white flour and/or sugar (including honey). Although grains and breads are on the "Restricted" list, people who are on a weight-maintenance diet, non-obese diabetics, or those who can tolerate a few additional carbs and still lose weight, may eat a limited amount of grain products. The same applies to fruits. Most fruits are restricted, but some fruit (other than watermelons and bananas) is allowed as long as it does not produce weight gains.

The number of grams of carbohydrates allowed per day varies with the individual. Make sure every gram of carbohydrate you eat is the healthier complex carbohydrates found in vegetables or whole grains. Be especially careful that your carbohydrates come from foods that have a low glycemic index.
