I was surprised by that one too. I think that the onion pie and the tuna noddle casserole only work if you are doing group 3 in the diet, (the super athletic people who don't want to lose any weight)
It might be worth writing to Susan about it to see if we are missing something.

there was a poppy seed bread on the bag of flax, I adapted it to make a
parmesan bread with whole wheat flour and flax.
Put these ingredients in your machine in this order
1 1/2 cup water
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 cup unbleached flour (harvest king by Gold Medal is great for
bread!)
1 cup Bob's Mill whole wheat flour
1/2 cup ground flax
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
2 tsp salt
2 tsp bread machine yeast
use the medium crust setting, enjoy!
Good job! I bought it last night as a gift for my dad, but I think I
might actually keep it for myself! I read the first half too and so
far so good. I don't like fish either, but bought the fisol fish oil
pills.
let me show you how cool Fitday is.. I am not shilling for it since
it is free!
I crafted my day's menu in advance, adding and tweaking until I had
met all my nutrient needs according to its daily report, using 'good
mood foods.' I ended up with 1620 calories and here is what I need
to eat today to get to that total.
black bean soup 1 cup
half and half 2 oz
Kale, raw 1/2 cup
protein drink 8 oz
coffee 16 oz
Celery 2 stalks
grapefruit 1 large
flax seeds 1 tbsp
cod liver oil 1 tbsp
buttermilk, lofat 1 cup
salmon, canned 3 oz
sunflower seeds 1/4 cup
orange/pineap juice 1 cup
broccoli 1 cup
onions 1/4 cup
scotch oats 1/4 cup
now the challenge will be actually eating all of that! But you can
see I will not go hungry today one bit! It is fun seeing what you
can add to reach the needed nutrients.. needed more calcium so I
threw in the buttermilk... happen to love buttermilk. I may even add
an apple in the mix, I have been eating an apple everyday but I am
out of my beloved Pink Ladies! so might eat the Gala that is in the
fridge...
You have to customize some foods, I had to add in the information
from the label for the scotch oats, and the protein drink which is a
Bolthouse farms drink that tastes like mocha latte or something!
Look in the produce section. I have to discipline myself to only
drink one serving at a time. Scotch oats are delicious by the way,
with just a little splenda and cinnamon.
The salmon I will eat in the form of a patty later, with onions and
the flax ground and a bit of whole wheat flour and an egg. I didn't
add the egg to my foods since I won't eat the entire recipe.
And yes I really will eat an entire grapefruit.. it is a Ruby Red!
Would love to see what everyone else is eating today! Wish me luck
actually eating all this food!
I could sure tell the difference last night, I have a second job
cleaning an office building two nights a week, and last night I did
not dread it as I usually do, felt quite energetic and cheerful!
Hi linda, and welcome to the group. We seem to be pretty small so far, but growing! Good luck on your new adventure. The book is an easy read, and I feel that the plan is pretty simple to follow. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Have either of you tried St. John's Wort for the depression
symptoms? also, a very good hi potency B complex often is very
helpful with depression as well. B vitamins saved my sanity a few
years ago! Eating in line with this book will cover our nutrient
needs pretty well, but B vitamins and St. John's Wort are both not
expensive, worth a try.

Linda,
I'm new here too, and hoping to go pick up a book this weekend. I
also suffer from depression and I would love to feel better without
needing meds. Keep us updated on how it goes!

good for you! Brussel sprouts are yum. I still have yet to work in
any fish meals although I did buy some canned salmon. I am taking a
fish oil supplement but gotta work in the little fishies...
Hi! I am waiting for my book to arrive. I plan to get started next
Tuesday; that should be time enough for the book to arrive and to get
what I need in the house.
I had a good day yesterday and today, but Sunday I felt really off.
That was day 2 for me and I guess the sugar withdrawal kicked in! I
felt much better today though. I met all of my requirements and I am
feeling good about that tonight. I tried the carmelized brussel
sprouts from the book at dinner tonight. Really tasty! I like br.
sprouts but have never cooked them that way. It is a nice bonus to find
new foods and cooking methods. GN all...
enjoyed my shredded wheat, my apple and banana, and tonight I made a
big pot of black bean soup, I minced a quarter cup of kale to add to my
soup because Kale is so amazingly good for you. Today I didn't eat
anything off of the super food list.
Feeling pretty good here except for the gym being closed!

I haven't seen dried blueberries but I will look for them. Tomorrow I
will be buying canned salmon.. found a site with many delicious salmon
recipes.
http://www.alaskaseafood.org/canned/recipes/salads.html
salmon and walnut sandwiches.. what could be more 'superfood' than that?
I did great today, had a boiled egg and a cocoa/banana /flax shake for
breakfast, we had to pack lunch so it was a whole wheat bagel with thin
ham slices, an apple and celery sticks, and pork roast and broccoli for
dinner. Now I will have pork roast slices to pack for tomorrow.
Seriously, check out fitday.com if you haven't already. It is so much
fun to be able to add and subtract foods and see where you are with
calories and with nutrients in the daily nutrient report.
My one baddie today, didn't drink enough water but we were most of the
day at a convention. So I need to go drink some...hope you had a great
day too!
Today is my day 1. I bought a coffee grinder for my flax seeds. They
tasted great in my whole grain oatmeal. Have you discovered dried
blueberries? I measure them like raisins and they are super sweet and
taste like a huge treat added to the oatmeal. Any hints you guys can
share would be greatly appreciated! Hope you have a great day.

I came across it mentioned in an MSN article. I believe it had the
link to this site in the article. It was an article about 'feel great
foods' and 'feel bad foods.' I am just pooped out with low carb. It
sure is nice to be able to eat a banana or an apple again... Let us
know how it goes for you too! I feel better already although I don't
think I have lost any weight.. I am depending on it to help me have the
energy to actually use the gym and not go just to use the sauna! (In
my defense, I did have a cold so I avoided doing anything that would
set me coughing for a couple of weeks. The cold/flu that is going
around will leave you coughing for days afterward, not fun.) But once
I get going in the gym again I expect to see positive changes.

for good results and neat tracking.
I like the concept very much. Book was way easy to understand. I
recommend signing up for a free Fitday account to use in conjunction
with this. It takes a little getting used to but once you have the
foods you like used once, then adding them in each new days foods is
easy.
Using the 'super foods' from the list you can craft a day's intake. Do
this and then check the 'report' for the nutrients for the day. You
can easily see if you have gotten the important nutrients and then you
can tweak it if you need more of something. If you use mainly
the 'super foods' in your foods list, you will quickly get used to
making those foods the mainstay of your diet.
I will be making a banana super smoothie first thing in the morning. I
was already a big fan of flax!

I found it today in BooksAMillion
I think canned salmon and tunas will have to do it for me for a bit.
I love broccoli and flax and many of the superfoods, so this will be
a cinch.

I bought the book in Barnes & Nobles- the book is out. It's a little
cheaper on the Barnes and Nobles website.
I stumbled across this book in Barnes and Nobles yesterday while
looking for motivation to get on track nutritionally. I need to lose
weight and have yo-yo'ed for years. Just turned 50 and I am looking to
feel good AND lose weight. How did you hear about this plan? I had no
idea until I read your posts that it is brand new. We could be the new
trendsetters!! lol Good luck to you all!

cool.. so the book is out now? Any chance in WalMart or bookstores? I
will be out today so I will look.
I like fish....I am doing better with eating fruit and not drinking
sodas. An apple a day! and a can of tomato juice is half the cost of a
bottle of soda, did you know? I am happy eating my shredded wheat for
breakfast. Sure hope I can get that book today.
Well, I bought the book . I'm half way done with it. It doesn't seem
that difficult to follow- just the fish thing! I'm not crazy about
fish.
This is the first time I actually joined a club to support me in my
weight loss. I figured I tried to lose weight by myself- why not
actually get some type of support this time!
buttermilk and shredded wheat and bananas, walnuts and low fat milk,
and started some pinto beans to soak.
I am ready to eat to feel good, not eat to lose weight.
Now maybe when I go the the gym I will feel like working out, instead
of just hitting the sauna!
Anyone else ever blend up canned diced tomatoes to make tomato juice?
I am going to try that in the morning. V8 is too darn expensive.
I *think* the book doesn't come out until Jan 7. In the meantime, look
for this one:
