My tip is to study your portion control. Even if you are eating the foods that are not straight from the GMD if you learn portion control it makes things go better for your mood and it will be a whole lot easier when you do eat the right foods. Size is usually one of the problems when dieting you always feel hungry but if you eat smaller meals and more often you actually feel like you are stuffing yourself. Good Luck!
