Ok, I'm new to this too so take my answer with a grain of salt,
please.
1. Calories: No counting. Weigh and measure your ingredients. That's
all.
2. I would think that the template should be followed as closely as
possible. In my opinion, certain foods play together nice and just
the right combination can make you lose more weight and get you in a
better mood than just eating those food in no order during the day.
At least, that's what I think she was saying. Not only what you eat,
but when and where.
