Hi,
I'm new too.
From the book, I really didn't get the impression that the GMD was
only for those with only a little to lose. I think it is well worth
the try. (I've got about 30 more to get to pre-baby weight, and 20
more after that to get down to recommended weight, so I'm right there
with you).
I'm thinking that the number of calories seems high because all of
the other diets may have been aiming for calorie intake that's too
low... hence depression and fatigue. I'd love to hear what everyone
else who's been on the diet for a while thinks.
I lost a good 15 lbs on ww in 2002, but all I remember is thinking
about food all of the time and obcessing over what I couldn't eat. I
felt like it was almost too little. I've been on the GMD for about 2
1/2 weeks now and I'm down 8 lbs (which just goes to show how I was
eating :) I expect that rate of loss to slow down, but I don't
really actually feel hungry on this.
I'd love to keep in touch and see how things are working for you.
Christine
