let me show you how cool Fitday is.. I am not shilling for it since
it is free!
I crafted my day's menu in advance, adding and tweaking until I had
met all my nutrient needs according to its daily report, using 'good
mood foods.' I ended up with 1620 calories and here is what I need
to eat today to get to that total.
black bean soup 1 cup
half and half 2 oz
Kale, raw 1/2 cup
protein drink 8 oz
coffee 16 oz
Celery 2 stalks
grapefruit 1 large
flax seeds 1 tbsp
cod liver oil 1 tbsp
buttermilk, lofat 1 cup
salmon, canned 3 oz
sunflower seeds 1/4 cup
orange/pineap juice 1 cup
broccoli 1 cup
onions 1/4 cup
scotch oats 1/4 cup
now the challenge will be actually eating all of that! But you can
see I will not go hungry today one bit! It is fun seeing what you
can add to reach the needed nutrients.. needed more calcium so I
threw in the buttermilk... happen to love buttermilk. I may even add
an apple in the mix, I have been eating an apple everyday but I am
out of my beloved Pink Ladies! so might eat the Gala that is in the
fridge...
You have to customize some foods, I had to add in the information
from the label for the scotch oats, and the protein drink which is a
Bolthouse farms drink that tastes like mocha latte or something!
Look in the produce section. I have to discipline myself to only
drink one serving at a time. Scotch oats are delicious by the way,
with just a little splenda and cinnamon.
The salmon I will eat in the form of a patty later, with onions and
the flax ground and a bit of whole wheat flour and an egg. I didn't
add the egg to my foods since I won't eat the entire recipe.
And yes I really will eat an entire grapefruit.. it is a Ruby Red!
Would love to see what everyone else is eating today! Wish me luck
actually eating all this food!
I could sure tell the difference last night, I have a second job
cleaning an office building two nights a week, and last night I did
not dread it as I usually do, felt quite energetic and cheerful!
