Spreading Illness!



It is that time of year again when many people are getting sick with
the flu or worse! I am one who is extremely offended by those who
cough into their hands, then continue to touch things in the room that
are used by others! My opinion is they don't care enough about my
health or others who use the facility to keep their illness to
themselves. Usually when I correct people and ask them to please wash
or disinfect their hands before touching the weights, they become very
defensive. They don't understand the touching of weights could make
another 2, 4, 8 or 16 people ill, because of their carelessness.



If 1-in10 people cough in their hands and touch a public door knob
that will make another 20 people ill, you can do the math as to why so
many people get ill, when it could have stopped with one!



At GoldenTrainer Performance, I disinfect door handles, weights,
benches, etc. on a daily basis, but keeping up with those who cough
into their hands and use items like grocery carts or baskets, walk
into the gas station or use the pay at the pump buttons, etc. is next
to impossible. There are many who will then jump into their vehicle
and eat without thinking about all the things they just touched that
had other people's bacteria on it.
