Just to introduce myself but I am sure you have come across me on the
European CML website. I finally started Glivec after a long wait on
6th Dec. last but after 12 days was hospitalised with all over body
rash, high temperature - been off Glivec since 18th Dec. and my
counts are still low ! I restarted last Sunday on 50mg STI + 20 mg
prednisolone and all liver functions are normal so may be this Wed.
increasing to 200mg and see. Opinions vary as to whether I had an
allergic reaction to Glivec or that I was unfortunate to catch a
liver virus as traces of EBV Virus were found ??? So we shall soon
see. I am hoping for the virus !!
I post my results on the cmlsupport.org website, I wish more people
would put their results on there as it is very helpful to others.
Slowly hopefully this will come.I usually scan the egroups but do not
read all the messages as it is all very time consuming.
It will be interesting for people with problems with Glivec to post
to this list so that we can see all the different things that can go
wrong. Liver problems occur in 1 in 300 apparently, severe rashes in
1 in 200 - so basically rare but very important to those to whom it
is happening.
Enough for now. I'llkeep an eye on this list and see how it
progresses.
