I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Why is she not in one of the
trials for Gleevec resistant patients? There are two very promising
new drugs being trialed right now (AMN107 and Dasatinib). Patients
who never responded to Gleevec in the past, have experienced
complete remissions with these new drugs.
These trials have been going on for some time now, they aren't new.
If your mother's doctor doesn't know about them by now and hasn't
tried to get her into one of them, I would seriously consider
getting another doctor.
Please don't waste any time getting her into one of these trials.
Time is of the essence.
