Its good to see some activity on the group. I have a question for you
all. My mum's been CML patient for last 9 years. Started Gleevec
nearly 4 years back. Since then she has stayed in chronic phase. No
remission. But steady reduction in the number of bone marrow cells
carrying the Ph chromosome. But her recent test done last week showed
the her blast %age has gone up from 5% in Sept 2005 to 18%. We are
very concerned. In last few months she has also become anaemic. Does
anyone have any idea how effective is Gleevec in accelerated phase?
Can u go back to Chronic phase if dosage is increased? What can we
expect to happen now. Any information would be helpful.
