Freeda,
Procrit IS good for CML'ers to have. When it was first approved by
the FDA it was not approved for use in Myeloid cancers, but is able
to be prescribed "off label" for our use. I have used it numerous
times and I know of many many others who have also used it. The
first thing that you need to do is have your hemoglobin checked via
a regular CBC and then your doctor can prescribe it for you if yours
is low. It is a very expensive injectable drug, so some insurance
companies have rules about how low your hemo needs to be before they
will pay for it.
Please, check with your doctor and your insurance company, because
it is a wonderful drug!!
Let me know if I can help anymore.

will check on that too.ANYTHING!!! I get reasured when I read that I
am not alone. Some times I feel all alone in this thing. Then I think
maybe it's a small price to be able to enjoy my family and
friends.Without Gleevec I may not be here to have that opportunity.
