Hello

Hi,
I'm new to the group. My name is Melissa Limburg and I have a nine
year old son who has a severe milk allergy. He outgrew his egg and
peanut allergy by preschool age and we are trying to remain hopeful
he will outgrow his milk allergy. My three younger children don't
have any food allergies.
We have highs and lows managing his allergies. Recently, related to
school issues. Fortunately he has a supportive teacher who has only
allowed snacks the whole class can enjoy. This has not always been
the case. He used to be okay with having an alternate snack, but is
becoming increasingly frustrated why he has to have something else
when there are a lot of snacks (to him) that he can have. Anyone who
has suggestions on dealing with food allergies at school I'd love to
hear!
I'm also looking for a bakery that sells milk-free cupcakes for our
class Valentine's party. They have to be store bought. I know about
Pratzel's and Whole Foods but am looking for any additional
recources.
Does anyone have an allergist they recommend? My son hasn't been
seen by an allergist in several years and we are looking for someone
to follow up with.
I look forward to sharing ideas with this group and wish I had found
a support group sooner. Sorry about all of the questions!
Thanks -
Melissa
