This website has a great tool to map your walk. I created a profile
and mapped the route D'Ann and I take when we walk from her house and
was able to figure out the distance very easily. I live on a park, so
I mapped my walk around here and found the distance I walk when I walk
here. You can even go in and figure out the distance of a new walk
before you take it.
There are other people in town that use this and have posted their
walks too... so you can see other places people walk, like down by the
river and get a quick reference on what the distance is. There are
training logs so you can put in the time it takes you to walk this
distance, you can map where bathrooms are on the walk, drinking
fountains or telephones... whatever is important to you. It's a handy
little tool and you're able to share it with friends easily or post to
your facebook page.
mapmywalk.com and fitday.com are both handy little tools to help keep
track of exercise and food intake without too much work. Now I just
need something to give me a more accurate count of my weight training
besides the sore muscles and I'll be set!
Happy New Year!
