Thanksgiving Tips

Humm,,, tips? Tips?

- busy yourself and help serve others so people don’t notice that you aren’t eating as much.

- don’t take taste tests, this always messes me up, because then I’m too full to even make a plate

- use a smaller plate, the small portions will look bigger, don’t forget your small bites

- enjoy conversations instead of eating

- when someone needs something when every is already seated at the table, be the one to jump up and get it, this will help with the time between bites, and everyone will think you are so nice!

- take small servings and remember to eat your protein first, shouldn’t be hard with that great roasted turkey on your plate

- bring your own dessert, if you can tolerate sugar free, make you own and bring it, others will probably like it too (but make sure you get your piece)

- read your Bariatric news letters before going and may be look over a few old pictures.  This makes me feel good about how far I’ve come and reminds me what stuffing myself can do!

- take a walk after instead of vegging on the sofa

Okay, these were off the top of my head because I couldn’t find my newsletter, lol.

Anyone else have things that have helped them in the past or have any questions for those going through their first post surgery Thanksgiving?

Subject: [GastricBypassVanderburghIN] hi everyone

Howdy everyone, we are getting ready to start the holidays!!!!!!  Ahhh!   I know it’s going to be rough but we can do it.  I’ve been eating out too much myself with being busy and people visiting.   I getting ready to put my hubby on a diet too.

Does anyone want to share some tips or recipes that help them through the holidays?  I will send another message with some tips.  Does anyone want a sugar free pumpkin pie recipe?  I make one every year.
