I am guilty of snacking. I need an accountability
partner, someone who I can tell what I ate and help me. Not get mad when
I mess up but I think just having to tell someone will make me be good,
lol. Maybe I can just tell all of you!! Oh man, you may not want to
hear it but if I mess up and know I have to tell you, then maybe I won’t
do that again. I feel like I’ve derailed! My middle daughter
Tessa is coming to live with us, she just turned 14, so maybe I can make some
support meetings, she can watch the little ones for me. I feel like
kicking myself in the bottom!!!
Okay, so today I had an omelet for
breakfast, it was only one egg, but had ham, black olives and cheddar
cheese. I ate it slowly. I didn’t have any snacks this
morning. Then at lunch, I feed the kids pasta with alfredo but I didn’t have
any pasta, doesn’t set well with me. But I did have what was equal
to half a piece of bread toasted and dipped into the sauce. A couple bits
of broccoli and some ground beef. It was half of one of those meatloaf
things from swans. But I am drinking diet pepsi. So I don’t
feel bad.
I did go to the doctor today because of my
shoulder and he noticed I had gained some weight. He didn’t make me
feel bad but told me to be careful that I know what to do. (yea, right) I
did call and get my 2 year check up at the weight loss center (or whatever they
are calling it now). Maybe I can get back down before I go to it, it’s
not for a couple of weeks.
Okay, so let me make my check list
1- walking when school starts
2- no more snacking
3- get back on vitamins (I slip on those
every once in awhile.)
4- humm…. What else??

my nutritionist said was NO SNACKING! So far I have adhered to that. She said
if I didn't break that habit, I'd be back where I started and my surgery would
be a failure. Last night we had a business meeting at China Bistro. Their
portions are HUGE. I overate and still brought enough home for 2-3 more meals!
When I got home I wanted to snack even though I was still full. I never buy
snacks anymore so fortunately I had nothing to snack on AND my calories were
all used up anyway. So I finished my jug of Blueberry Tea and I was satisfied.
I bought this 64 oz. Jug with a sports lid from Wal-Mart. I make my drinks in
that every day cause I know I have to drink at least that much. In our support
group meeting we learned if we felt hungry, usually we were really thirsty
instead. I found that works for me.

I feel like now that I am over a year out, almost 2 and I can eat almost
anything, it is hard to think I need to go back on shakes. Some days I wish
I could have this done again to get me back to the beginning again. Yes, I
would go through the pain again to keep from gaining weight back. But as
far as a day to day to day thing, I have a hard time with control. Esp in
the evening and sometimes in the morning I think if I start eating, I can't
stop. And I try to tell myself that eating or certain foods are not worth
it but then I have to eat it anyway. It's the same cycle as before I lost
the weight. I really want to stop this before it gets out of hand.
I do think the journaling helps, I saw on GMA yesterday a man who lost over
100 pounds just by journaling for over a year. That's called disciple, of
which, I seem to have none!
It's quiet here unlike the cafe. How many months out before you stopped losing? Did you reach goal? It'll be 18 mo. Fri. and I'm fluctuating about 5 lbs. I...
It was like at 10 months, I stopped losing. This summer has been terrible for my dieting. I've not be able to walk so that is probably why I feel so "fat"....

Congratulations! I can see how it would be hard to be pregnant right after surgery. Since our cravings and tastes are so different during pregnancy maybe...
People look at me like I'm nut when I say I've gained 1-5 lbs. But if I don't keep a watch on it, it will get out of control and my surgery will be in vain....
