Patty, you did not take the easy way
out. If you had, you would not be having all these feelings and
concerns. I don’t want to say problems because it’s just part
of the surgery.
I eat weird stuff sometimes and I hate to
admit but found things I should not be eating be well tolerated.
Where did you have your surgery?
Maybe you can talk to the dietician there, I’m sure they have seen this
happen before. I have not experienced being pregnant after the surgery. I
had my babies before. I do know they said that after surgery, a lot of
women become more fertile. They said it like a warning, lol.
I’m not the expert but I would think
just to do your best to eat the healthiest you can tolerate. Your baby
needs good nutrition and I know you said you were on the prenatal vitamins so
that is a good thing. Do you take the B12 or calcium?
Talk to your doctor and dietician. I’m
not sure I helped any but you are certain welcome to let out your stresses here
and we will be your friend and do the best we can to talk you through this.
Let us know how it’s going.

Hello all this is Patty in Nc...Im just curiouse on
what im going
through but in my situation i ended up pregnant after little over 3
months after surgery. Was told after my first kid 18 years ago that
pretty much 90% i would not get pregnant again and then after all
this time i end up pregnant!!Im 42 years old and next month will be a
year since my surgery. I have lost 120 pounds now even being pregnant
but i think is part of the complcations i am having now with the baby
because of age and im not gaining weight. I want to know if this is
what anyone else is going through what i am because i see alot of u
saying worried about gaining weight back n all. I still cant eat alot
at a time and i live off saltine crackers and Romaine noodles. I know
i cant eat part of a sanich because the bread makes me sick so i ahve
stayed away from that. Meat..well i used to love steak big time
before surgery i still cant even eat that. nore pork or chicken only
meat i can eat is hamburger if its made up in sloppy joe and i eat
that on crackers and i eat about 6 of them and thats it im full. i
cant eat eggs or anything like with bigger noodles like in spagetti i
can eat about 4 little bites of that and thats it. I know ice cream
is out of picture because i tryed suger free or low fat and i will
not learn that lesson again after half hour in bathroom dry heaves n
all!! ACKKK!!! I can eat spagetti o"s a can can last me 3 meals.
Sweet stuff verys..I know i was at store and they had 4 huge cup
cakes with white frosting and i took it home for my family and i had
a bite of it and OMG it tasted soooooo good... about 2 hours later i
ate a whole one but nibbles and didnt get sick...My daughter nade a
yellow cake and choc frosting and i had 2 bites and was in bathroom
sick as a dog. Just weird on howsome things u can eat and others u
cant and days u can eat something and next week eat same thing and
get sick on it...Sooo confusing. My goal weight loss was to get down
to 135 to 140 pounds and my BF wishes that i could have my stomache
back and be normal because he says i better not lose any more weight
because my bones r showing in my back and collar bones n all and i
feel like im gross looking now in a way. See i was 275 pounds and now
155 and i dont know how i feel with this weight loss and being
pregnant at same time...I get so weak after doing the daily cleaning
and dishes i feel like everything in me has drained out and have to
lay down for a half hour.I have not exercised at all and i really
need to tone up but will after the baby and hoping i will have more
energy. But the whole thing is what im saying is that i really dont
crave food n all maybe sweet stuff ..Oh and i can eat choc. animal
crackers and choc. chip cookies too lol.But i dont eat alot at any
meal because i know when to stop or i will get sick..well not all
time i know i forget and eat to fast and it sits there half way down
till it starts to come back up.ACKKK! or forget and drink something
with what i eat.I make my family all these good dinners n all and i
sometime feel jeallouse and envy that they can it this and i want it
so badbut i know i cant do it. I know thats normal to feel that way
but i chose this path and i know im happy in ways losing this weight
that i have but then others in comments they say that i took the easy
way out of losing weight...well its not been the easy way as far as i
see it and tryed to lose weight by diets that didnt work. Im afraid
of losing more weight because i feel that some think i will look to
ill looking and bones showing and not much i can do about that now or
the lose skin. Just wanted to get this out and hope that others r
doing good. I wanted to know what
can eat or not eat because im confused on if its the surgery or being
pregnant..I dont know what somewhat normal is!! Thanks all have great
day! Patty--- In GastricBypassVander

> People look at me like I'm nut when I say I've gained 1-5 lbs. But
if I don't keep a watch on it, it will get out of control and my
surgery will be in vain. They just don't understand where we've come
from and how far God has brought us! I'm not deliberately walking,
but when it was all I could do was to get back and forth to the
bathroom without sitting down on the way, I'm doing SOOOO much
better. I had to use an electric cart to shop with before and now I
can shop for hours and walk all over the stores.
> All I am on now is Calcium and a Multi Vitamin. I was still on
Insulin and other diabetes meds till this past Feb. Most diabetics
got off their meds 1 month after surgery, but 27% don't and that was
me. One of our products got my sugars down so I am no longer showing
signs of diabetes.
> I found I was craving peanut butter. I'm usually able to control
my cravings. If there's something I want, I might take 1 bite unless
I'm afraid it has too much sugar or salt. I'm still trying to keep
calories between 600-700 daily or I don't lose. I don't snack. If I
feel like snacking, I just drink more.
> Company suggest eating sensibly and I still follow the same diet
I've been on since after surgery. My husband basically eats whatever
he wants, but just doesn't want as much. For example, He used to
scramble 5 eggs for breakfast and make that into 4 sandwiches. Now,
he scrambles 1-2 and makes 1 sandwich. Instead of 3-4 homemade
hamburgers for lunch or dinner, he's full with 1. We are saving
money! Monday nite we ate at
$13.99. I always take food home and make 2 more meals from it. For
the first time in 26 yrs. he brought food home, too. He could only
eat 1/2 of his pork chop! In less than 1 mo., he's dropped a size in
his clothes!
> I LOVE this product! This is 90% more effective than diet &
exercise alone. I wish it had been on the market before I had
surgery.
