Hi Patty,
Congrats on losing 115 pounds and on being
pregnant. That is a lot to handle at once though. Your body is
probably trying to figure out what to do next, lol. I know there are
people that have the surgery so that one day they can become pregnant. I’m
not sure if anyone in this group did that. I have 6 children so I’m
done with that. lol
I can’t eat bread very well, I take
a couple of bites and that’s it. I don’t do pasta at all,
unless it’s the kind from a can, it’s really soft so it does
okay. But I don’t really miss it. I still have problems
eating a full meal. Sometimes I will just stop eating after 2 bites and
someone will ask if I’m okay. I’m fine, I just can’t
eat anymore at least not for a few minutes. So it’s awkward
sometimes, more for the other person than me. I just fill the time
talking, lol.
I’m sure it will get better with
what to eat. At the 8 month, is when I started to wonder about “will I
ever eat normal again?” I found that it does take a year to get to
a regular meal. But they still aren’t so “regular”. Lol
So what does your OB doctor say about the
eating? Is there a special diet for you so that the baby gets enough
nutrients?
I can’t remember, did you have your
surgery at through the St. Mary’s Bariatric? They are really good
over there and I’m sure they have counseled people in this area before.
Keep us up to date on how you are
doing. I’m not sure if I helped but feel free to let it all out,
you can talk to us.

>Hello my name is Patty..I had gastric bypass done on Aug 7th 07 just
over 8 months ago now. I have lost 115 pounds. I been undergoing alot
of stress and to top it off i have become pregnant to make things
worse. I know since surgery i have not had a big appitite and being
pregnant doesnt help. I can eat bannannas, some fruit and noodles and
spagettios and sea food and thats it. I cant handle regular meats
liek i used to nore any breads. I feel at times why did i do this
because when i see people eat full meals my mouth waters and i want a
bite or try something but i have learned the hard way by this. I keep
myself safe because i dont want to spend 20 min. dry heaving lol. But
everyone says i look great and all. But i just wish i felt great! I
hope after the baby i can get myself together and start feeling good
for once.

I
usually don't give in cause I remember my nutritionist said I should
not get back in the habit of between-meal snacking, or I'll be back
where I started. I waited too long and put too much work into losing
the weight to jeopardize it with bad eating habits. My weight loss
has slowed down tremendously but I still want to lose 40 lbs. I
heard there will be a new weight lose pill coming in May that is
natural, has 2 patents on it and has been proven to help people lose
2 lbs. per wk. on average and helps build body mass. I'm seriously
considering it to get that last 40 off. What do you think?
