I got mine through the St. Mary's Bariatric Clinic. They are really nice in there. My insurance did pay for it, but since I did not have a year of a doctor supervised diet, I did that through the Bariatric clinic. Therefore, I went through a year of appointments to get the surgery done. I only had to go in like every 3 months, but they monitored my diet and exercise. They had told me to try to lose like 10 pounds and I did at one point, but I yo-yoed the whole year and ended up at the same weight. My insurance which is through St. Marys justed needed to see that on paper.
I didn't mind the year really, it gave me time to think about it, study and research on gastric bypass and get to know everyone at the clinic.
Have you talked to them?
They have a monthly support group and I am going to try to get people from there to join in this group. I started the group because I didn't see
any one for this area.
Did I help any?
