Re: [GastricBypassVanderburghIN] Re: Clothes and exercise

YMCA does have a daycare for the kids.  They can be in there for 1-1 1/2 hours.  I use it on Fridays when my daughter is not in preschool.  I don't know your situation but some people can apply for finacial assistance and get a lower month fee.  I only pay $19 a month.  Not sure if I will get it when it's time to renew or not.  But it doesn't hurt to ask, right?  I go to the Y after I drop off my 2 kids to school, so I'm there by 8:30.  I work out for about an hour.  I think I feel so much better going and it's like "me" time, no worries about what is going on, just working on ME.  A little get-away.
They Y has a nice pool too, I take the kids there all the time on Fridays and the weekend.  They love it.
They can give you a tour of the place when you go out there.  I go to the new one, Dunigan (I think I spelled that right).
Anyone else go to the Y or considering ?

Once I go through the surgery I'll start posting my decent clothes
here first.

I guess I need to check into the YMCA for exercising. Toyota gets a
family discount and I think they have babysitting for my 4 year old.

I'm still wearing some of the 18s but hope to be down to the 16s soon.
I tend to hold on the larger shirts longer. T-shirts esp.

that I will be spying on people but just a good idea to remember that
we are doing this to help each other and support each other in our
weightloss journey.

Salvation Army on Wednesday when it is family day and all the clothes
are half off. So I pick up a pair of pants for $1 or $2 and if I wear
them for one month, that's good for me. Also, St. Marys Bariatic does
have a "clothes closet" that you can get clothes from. They have a
few things and I've gotten a couple of really nice things from there.
Not a big assortment though. I did have a few old clothes that I
outgrew that I can wear but I've shrank out of them already.
> Maybe this is something that we can start here. If people have
clothes they want to pass on, we can ask if someone one this group
could use them. I don't mind sharing. Also, if you are looking for
something and I know it, I've been known to pick it up at the bargain
places I go to. I've been taking most of my clothes to a consignment
shop but I would love to share with others, knowing they are being put
to good use!
> As far as exercise, I"ve been going to the gym and working out on
the machines. I would like to do more research on this "under the
arm" flab myself, and find the best thing for it. I know some people
when they've lost everything have surgery to help that. I'm want to
avoid that!! I'm going to ask them this week at the Y and see what
they say is the best thing. I've thought about getting some small
handweights to use at home too. Anyone else know?
> I hope I have helped, I had some of these worries too, but I
figured out that that is minor stuff compared to the way I feel now
after losing 70 pounds!! I'm not a fashion dresser, but who cares, I
can walk the zoo without getting winded. That's what is important!
