Merry Christmas from Anthem!!!   Message List

Re: Merry Christmas from Anthem!!!

I am going through St. Mary's. I just got the letter on Friday
evening after the office closed, so I haven't scheduled anything yet
with the surgeon. At this point, next week wouldn't be soon enough.
I've tried to call the office this morning, but they aren't answering
the phone, so I'm assuming that they are closed today.

My husband is an awful cook. He can burned grilled cheese pretty well
and tomato soup. Mac and Cheese usually turns out ok, but anything
beyond that is just asking for trouble. Maybe he can handle the
skillet meals while I'm in the hospital. Probably my best bet is I
find out when my surgery is scheduled I'll just take a few days and
just cook up a bunch of meals for him and my 2 sons and hopefully that
will suffice until I feel like cooking again.

I have a house full of boys and dogs right now, so it's really hard to
think. I'll re-read your post again when things calm down and I'll
probably have more questions then

Thanks
Judy

I found that I could chew the food to a pureed state just as well and
I got to enjoy it more that way too. I did buy everything on the
list. (are you going through St. Marys?) I bought sugar free pudding
and jello, low fat cream soups. and the low fat, low sugar yogurt.
Do you have your protein powder yet? Tuna was a life saver and the
canned chicken too. I would just mix a little of one of those and put
a drop of light mayo in it and make a "tuna salad". When I wanted
some thing hot I would eat cream of wheat or the low fat creamy soups.
It was still hot out then and I loved to eat the sugar free
popsicles, well, still do. I figured that would add to my water
intake. Crystal Light or the other brands that have the packettes you
add to your bottle water, they are great. Walmart has lots of
different flavors. One of my favorite is a cranberry flavor. I did
eat some cottage cheese and eggs.

would eat my meals out of it. If I had extra, I would just fill up
another cup for the next meal.
> As for my family, I did buy frozen meals that were easy to
prepare. That was for when my husband was working. If it was his
night off, he cooked. He's a great cook. But I did but like the
skillet meals or frozen lasagna for them. It didn't bother me to
throw one of those in the oven or microwave for them. Also, my kids
probably ate more tv dinners that I would like to admit for those
first few weeks after my surgery.

to have later. Like the sweets! I have found a sugar pumpkin pie
recipe that I really like. And I'm trying out the brown sugar Splenda
today on ham.
