Hi Judy,
that is great news!! I'm so excited for you. Do you have a date yet? What doctor is doing it?
I did do some freezing but not as much as I thought I would do. I found that I could chew the food to a pureed state just as well and I got to enjoy it more that way too. I did buy everything on the list. (are you going through St. Marys?) I bought sugar free pudding and jello, low fat cream soups. and the low fat, low sugar yogurt. Do you have your protein powder yet? Tuna was a life saver and the canned chicken too. I would just mix a little of one of those and put a drop of light mayo in it and make a "tuna salad". When I wanted some thing hot I would eat cream of wheat or the low fat creamy soups. It was still hot out then and I loved to eat the sugar free popsicles, well, still do. I figured that would add to my water
intake. Crystal Light or the other brands that have the packettes you add to your bottle water, they are great. Walmart has lots of different flavors. One of my favorite is a cranberry flavor. I did eat some cottage cheese and eggs. Some days a scrambled egg just tasted awesome, esp, if I got my husband to make it for me.
I have some of those 3 ounce snack cups from Tupperware and I would eat my meals out of it. If I had extra, I would just fill up another cup for the next meal.
As for my family, I did buy frozen meals that were easy to prepare. That was for when my husband was working. If it was his night off, he cooked. He's a great cook. But I did but like the skillet meals or frozen lasagna for them. It didn't bother me to throw one of those in the oven or microwave for them. Also, my kids probably ate more tv dinners that I would like to admit for those first few
weeks after my surgery.
Well, I guess you are having a Merry Christmas with that good news.
keep us informed and ask any questions you want!

Oh, and if it were me, I'd be eating those things I won't be able to have later. Like the sweets! I have found a sugar pumpkin pie recipe that I really like. And I'm trying out the brown sugar Splenda today on ham.

After the 8 months, 2 denials and a Level 2 appeal.. Anthem finally
approved me for surgery! I got the news yesterday. I'm pretty
excited and a little scared.
Any help on what to do to prepare for surgery and the foods I'll need
to be eating will be greatly appreciated. My friend that had the
surgery said she froze a potato soup in ice trays and that was her
meal for the first few weeks besides all the shakes and such.
I'm very curious to know what you did D'Ann, and how you prepared for
your family. I was thinking of precooking a bunch of meals and
freezing them so I won't have to deal with that for awhile. I'd hate
for them to eat out all the time and get bigger while I'm losing.
