The Optifast might be good for the 1st couple weeks when you are on a
liquid and pureed diet. I couldn't tell how many sugars were in a
serving though. Might also be good when you're out in the world and in
desperate need of food.
Before surgery I never drank anything except Green Tea in the mornings
and water throughout the day. Since surgery just plain water doesn't
get it and I'm such a slow drinker the green tea goes cold before I
can drink a full cup, I've just given up on it for awhile. I hated
Crystal Lite... post op I can't seem to get enough Crystal Lite. I
buy about every flavor for a variety, but so far my favorites are On
the go Energy with caffiene in it and the pomogranite flavor. Can't
believe how much my tastes have changed. I always loved tuna fish and
baked salmon, since surgery I can barely gag down anything fishy.
Since both are so loaded with protein I'm really hoping in a few
months I can stomach them again.
