The Phone Bridge Intergroup is a partnership of individual GSA Phone Bridge Meetings from all current phone bridges that schedule GSA phone meetings. This Intergroup was established to carry out certain functions common to all phone bridge meetings - functions which are best handled by a centralized entity - but is maintained, supervised, and supported by these phone bridge meetings in their interest. This Intergroup exists to aid the phone bridge meetings in our common purpose of carrying the GSA message to the compulsive eater who still suffers.
This Intergroup is guided in all its affairs by the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. In keeping with the Tradition of autonomy except in matters affecting other groups or GSA as a whole, most decisions are made by the *informed* group conscience of the members involved.
Some of the basic services this Intergroup offers the GSA Phone Bridge Meetings are:
1) Centralized Reservations of Phone Bridge schedules.
2) Referals for GSA Phone Bridge Inquiries from those seeking help in connecting to phone meetings, sponsors, etc.
3) Collection, Publishing and distributing up-to-date lists of meetings and other information about GSA Phone Bridge Meetings.
4) Information Exchange for the circulation and exchange of information among all the GSA phone meetings.
5) Maintaining a contact between the Intergroup and GSAWS especially in facilitating newly formed Phone Bridge Meetings Group Registration with GSAWS, etc.
The idea is to avoid duplication of effort and to have a central entity for tracking the common needs of the GSA Phone Bridge Meetings.
