GRASP, the Global and Regional Asperger Syndrome Partnership, is the largest organization of adults diagnosed on the autism spectrum in the world. This is one of their official local networks serving Southeastern, IA and beyond. More information can be had through GRASP's website at www.grasp.org. The only way to join this group is to first go to GRASP's website and subscribe to the "Southeastern Iowa" elist. This is all free, and can be accomplished easily by clicking "subscribe" at the top of our homepage, and then by following the instructions in the email invitation. Our network serves as a support group offering both face-to-face meetings and other services for adults in Southeast Iowa. We emphasize support through discussion, information, and advocacy. Support and respect go hand-in-hand. We may disagree with each other, but we can do so in a way that does not exclude and is not abusive.

GRASP Southeast Iowa Network meets the second and the fourth weekends of each month on Saturdays 3 - 5 P.M. We meet in the location for ALL meetings now, Uptown Bill's Small Mall, a used bookstore / coffeehouse / soda fountain / business space that welcomes all people, but especially to those with disabilities. The location is at 730 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa (52240). This is the upper floor of the Public Access TV building and has its own entrance at the upper level. Please note: there is really limited parking. However, a county employee has informed us that on Saturdays there will be no problem parking at the County Administration Building in their public parking lot. The entrance is to the West, across the street from the gas station's entrance. So it would be on your right, as your travel down the 'hill' from Uptown Bill's.
