Welcome to a support group for sharing strength and hope to those impacted by gadolinium based contrast agents. Persons with or without renal impairment are welcome as are families of those impacted. Anything related to the gadolinium contrast and associated diseases (GASF-NSF)are welcomed postings.

Gadolinium-associated systemic fibrosis can also manifest in patients with predisposing conditions - metabolic disorders, inflammatory factors, medications. Gadolinium has been found to be nephrotoxic and can cause acute kidney injury. The kidneys do not cause the disease gadolinium is the cause.

The medical community has failed to recognize this as a preventable disease and that it also affects persons with healthy kidneys. The fibrosis is an autoimmune response to a toxic metal and toxic metal should not be in our bodies. Research indicates that at least 1% of each dose will remain in the body.

This site recognizes the toxicity of gadolinium to all regions of the human body. This is a systemic disease so you may or may not have the skin condition. Exposure is caused intravenously therefore logic suggests that the condition begins from the inside out. This disease has been proven to also present with only myopathic symptoms and may not always display the skin condition. We welcome those doing chelation and those that are not, respect for others' process is all that is asked.
