GROUP AGAINST POVERTY & AIDS (GAP-A) This is a nonprofit organization established to address issues in poverty and HIV/AIDS.It is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501-(C)(3)effective July 9, 2004.Its main purpose is the exchange of ideas, information, news, experience and education towards the goal of enhancing community active participation, decision making and capacity building through multi-sector involvement and collaboration. HIV/AIDS has already affected millions in Ethiopia and other poorest countries of the world. The underlying cause of the unchecked spread of the disease is extreme poverty and underdeveloped health sector and overall social and economic stagnation and deterioration. The struggle against HIV/AIDS can not be separated from the struggle against poverty and under-development as well as the struggle for healthy, fair and peaceful global relations. This group welcomes involvement from everyone to participate in rural and urban development issues, in all sectors but especially HEALTH and HIV/AIDS prevention and comprehensive management.
