This email is from Tibotec

We wanted to alert you to the attached press release which will be issued tomorrow morning. The TMC114 EAP (TMC114-C226) is now in the process of being approved and opening throughout the U.S. This is the next phase of the TMC114 early access program which began earlier this year. Further details will be posted to www.clinicaltrials.gov in the near future.

If you are in North America and would like to participate or desire more details, please:

Call: 1-866-889-2074

Email: TMC114-C226@...
Visit: www.Tibotec.com

If you are outside of North America, the Expanded Access/Named Patient programs will open in the first countries next month. For participation or additional information, please:

Email: <mailto:earlyaccess@...>

Visit: www.Tibotec.com

NOTE FROM NELSON VERGEL:  This expanded access program  has a limit of 200 T cells or under. If you do not have any other active medications left in your genotype and you have over 200 T cells, ask your doctor to apply for an exemption.
DO NOT START TMC 114 if you do not have another active medication to start it with. People who started TMC 114 with Fuzeon had the best response to this new protease inhibitor.

Also keep in mind that in a few weeks Tibotec will be starting its combination study of TMC 114  (protease) + TMC 125 (non nuke). This is the first time in AIDS history that a company has the chance to start a study of two investigational agents. If you get into the expanded access for TMC 114, you will not be able to participate in this groundbreaking study.  I am looking forward to joining this study myself!

I will be sending an email in the near future summarizing other expanded access programs coming up in the next 12 months. We will have two oral entry inhibitors :Maraviroc and Vicriviroc, and an IV every two weeks: TNX 355. These three compounds may be used with TMC 114 when the time comes, so we will have more options to start two to three new agents. If your T cells are above 250 and are clinically stable and you have multi-drug resistance, you may want to wait until these agents get their expanded access started to have more options for success.
