Re: [FuzeonSupport] T20 Fatigue

Jorge, I'm so glad you brought up the issue of traveling with Fuzeon. In fact, I'll be going to Mexico (Clinic'estetica) in a couple of weeks and am a little concerned about the "kit." If any of you guys have traveled with Fuzeon, please share your experiences of dealing with customs officers.

Sincerely,

Krystof

Yes I heard so many different stories. I love it, in fact I wish all HARRT meds were injectable. I only get a minor site reaction every now and then. And it happens in a "rubbing" area ( belt line or so). Benadryl cream and a couple of advil work fine.

My doctor advise me to inject at an 15 degree angle ( not 45, almost parallel to the skin ) and barely let the needle puncture the skin.  ( 1/4 of the needle only). You always want to avoid muscle tissue.

The injection process is not so bad. Best of all, I have not had soft stools in months. In fact, I am suffering of a little bit of constipation every now and then. ( Using dulcolax,  Go figure?!). Overall feeling great.

On the down side, I have been on Fuzeon for 6 months and have yet to see undetectable levels and all the bells and whistles promised. But it is working.

By the way,  I am worried to travel to foreign countries (West Europe or Mexico)  with "my kit". Anybody can share experiences?

regards,

Jorge

I must say I have spoken to several people on T20 over the past months and Ive heard the gambit. Some say no side effects at all while others have had AWFUL life threatening events. Seem just like all the antivirals it depends on the person.

I wish I had been one of the "lucky ones" Injection site reactions were the least of my worries, and it was lowering my VL but I never felt so bad in my life. I may try it again at some later date but it would have to be an absolute last resort.

B
