Thanks to Tudi for this Frugal Baby Tip!
I bought a bunch of baby washcloths from a resale shop, 20 for $1 and
when that wasn't enough, I bought a couple of baby towels and cut them
up to make more. I have enough when they are folded in half to fill up
about 2 plastic wipes tubs and that seems to be enough for me. I
part-time EC so never have really messy dipes to clean up after and
these work great for me.
If baby pooped in his dipes, I might want thicker wipes, but not
really sure. I've heard regular washcloths work fine too. I have a
small spray bottle of water that I keep with the wipes box and just
wet the wipe a little before I use it. When winter hits, I think I'll
wrap one of those wrap-around wipes warmers around the spray bottle to
keep the water warm (at least that's what I'm going to try :).
Sometimes I put a little grapefruit seed extract in the water (will
probably be more necessary when I heat the water), but mostly it's
just water. But, I did like the sounds of the water/GSE/baby shampoo
mixture and I may try that one next time I'm out of water.
