I do what most of the moms who have replied have done...I keep my
solution in a squirty bottle (the kind with a sport-top drinking lid,
a sprayer drove me nuts). It's just water with a drop of baby soap. I
squirt as I go. I don't like my wipes soaking wet, they do a better
job of grabbing goop if they are just damp.

I made my own wipes, 2 sided...one side is yummy soft cotton velour,
the other side stretch terry. I use the velour side first as it is so
soft, and flip it over if I need more surface. I never liked flannel
wipes because there is so little nap for grabbing, and they got to
rough over time IMHO. Mine are about 7 inches square, serged around
the edges.

Cloth wipes are sooo much nicer than commercial wipes. Even when I
needed to stop cloth diapering my 3rd because of water issues where we
were living I stuck with the cloth wipes because they didn't give him
a rash, worked better, and were softer. For travel I just stuff 2
wipes into the packet of cover/diaper and throw in my bag. When it's
time for a change I just get the wipe wet (either a sink or my water
bottle) then put the whole dirty bundle in a giant ziploc and bring it
home.

And it's one less thing I'm buying with the intention of throwing it
away after I use it. I hate that. I'm making a bunch of canvas grocery
bags, and if I could make reusable garbage bags I would.
