Thanks to Stephanie for this Frugal Baby Tip!
This probably sounds crazy, but before we started cloth we had boought
about 10 packages of Huggies wipes on clearance. Instead of wasting
them, We use them for the cloth changes and I actually rinse them out
and through them in the wash to reuse. They hold up pretty good for a
few washes.
I did take an old flannel recieving blanket and cut it up into cloth
wipes which we have used and they work great too. Single layer is my
preference since I'm used to thin disposable wipes. I would see if you
can borrow a surger though for they edges and the flannel tends to
fray. I've even used some of the flannel wipes as a liner in the
diaper to limit the amount of poopies on the diaper itself. Hope that
helps.
