Diapering_: Oragami Fold
Thanks to Julie for this Frugal Baby Tip!
The oragami fold is done with a flat diaper, not a prefold. If you
don't
have any flats you could practice with a square receiving blanket. I
made my own flats out of diaper flannel from Wal-mart. 2 layers, 28
inch square. Get
your diaper in front of you, and go to this website
http://www.diaperware.com/picturepages/flatfolding.htm
I'll give you a little hint in addition to her directions. After you
have folded it up, then over to the right, the directions say to pull
the top corner over to the left as far as it will go, while keeping
the second corner in place. This was confusing to me, but I finally
figured it out. While you are pulling
the top corner over to the left, grab the *bottom right hand folded
corner* and pull it up to the *middle*, while simultaneously pulling
the top corner
over to the left. This is what will form your triangle. I hope this
makes sense.
Just keep practicing. I did it a few times, then couldn't figure out
how I had done it, and had to keep trying. It is fun though, and with
my double layered flannel dipes I made it is sooooooo absorbant. I'm
even going to try it out on her for nighttime tonight.
