Diaper Sewing_: Sewing fleece diaper covers
Thanks to Stephanie for this Frugal Baby Tip!
I just made my first fleece diaper cover 2 days ago. I just bought
your plain old every day fleece & it works great! We even left her in
it overnight & she woke up with no leakage. I didn't do anything
special to the fleece & it is only 1 layer.
For the fleece cover I just improvised using a pattern for a layette
that had a diaper cover in it (Simplicity or McCalls, can't remember
which). I used regular sew-in snaps, but only because I had them
sitting there. I definitely need to find some stronger kind of snaps.
Anyway, because fleece is a nonraveling fabric I didn't worry about
the ends. I used the fleece to make elastic casings in the legs &
they seem to fit her really well.
