Description
FOUND AND LOST SUPPORT is an on-line support group for people who have been separated from a biological family member by adoption, searched and found a grave. This makes our group unique as we have lost the same person twice; once to adoption and then to death.
DO NOT APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP THROUGH THIS SITE, Found and Lost Support is now on the world wide web, go to www.foundandlostsupport.com to apply for membership into this group. I will not approve any membership from this site. Please read the following to see if this group is for you...
Before applying for membership it's important for you to understand that this group is for those of us who have searched and found a grave. If you have made contact with your lost loved one, no matter what the status of your reunion was before they died, then this group is not for you. Not meeting the person for whom we have searched is key here; it’s the reason this group was formed. I understand the heartbreak of finding a lost loved one only to lose them again to death after they have been found, however, the difference between making contact, no matter how limited or full, and not being able to have made any contact at all is monumental.
I am a first mother who lost my only child to adoption in 1969, searched and on May 30th, 2003 I found my son had been killed, in an accident, 15 years earlier. In my quest to heal and find others who have had the same experience I formed this group in loving memory of my son Michael.
We have come together to lend support, and to validate feelings that are not easily understood by our friends and family. Only those who have experienced this type of loss can understand the immense sense of longing and love we feel for people we’ve never met.
From all the members of F&L Support - We are sorry for your loss.
