UK Councils Against Fluoridation

The most important document on fluoridation since the 'York Review' - Hampshire County Council rejects fluoridation.

The Report of Hampshire County Council's 'Water Fluoridation Panel' is, in our view, the most important document to have been published on fluoridation in the UK since the York Review.

It should be on the desk of every Council Leader and Health Scrutiny Committee Member for careful reading and the formulation of policy decisions on any fluoridation proposal.

And in already fluoridated areas, it should form the basis of an immediate review by Councils, with a view to terminating the practice - the Report notes that legal issues raised by UKCAF regarding fluoridation are significant, and need to be resolved as quickly as possible.

Northern Councils band together against fluoridation.

At public meetings across the region, pro-fluoride presentations have invariably failed to convince Councils and the public that the practice is safe. At the same meetings, UKCAF's proof that fluoridation damages children has persuaded every Council to reject the practice.
Now, following a meeting at Hyndburn District Council in November, the Leaders of all five Councils in East Lancashire have decided to ask the other Councils in the County to join them in opposing fluoridation.

NHS documents referred to Fraud investigators.

The continued illegal promotion of the alleged medicinal properties of fluoridated water diverts funding from the NHS for an activity that is in violation of European and English laws on the supply of medicinal products.
The study prepared for North Western PCTs by the NW Fluoridation Evaluation Group, and the glossy brochure released by the South Central SHA (condemned by Lord Baldwin as 'pro-fluoridation propaganda') have therefore been referred to the NHS Counter Fraud Division as potentially fraudulent. An investigation is now in progress.

Bringing the dental profession into disrepute?

For any professional to ignore or dismiss the evidence of the biochemical, physiological and psychological effects of water fluoridation is, in our opinion, gross professional misconduct. In the eyes of the public, and of thousands of scientists world-wide, such arrant disregard for public safety brings the entire dental profession into disrepute. UKCAF has referred one prominent pro-fluoridation advocate to the General Dental Council for a 'Fitness to Practice' hearing - others may follow.
