Thanks Marsch, very much, for making it so accessible. My kids have taken the DVD and shown it to many of their peers. I had to pester them to watch it at first but after that, it was self-perpetuating.
I watched it again this morning. Hodge gives me the creeps. He says, in that 1957 propaganda film,
"There is no health hazard that justifies the postponement of fluoridation."
Hodge already knew what those health hazards were. He had already deliberately covered them up by increasing Roholm's established toxic dose (14-25 mg/day for 2.5-11 years) threefold (20-80 mg/day for 10-20 years) and calling it safe. So, in effect, he was being absolutely truthful in a personal way. He was stating his core beliefs:
"Human life and health are expendable to preserve authority and power."
And every public health professional who:
*continues to approve of dental fluorosis in three quarters of children;
*continues to overlook a sevenfold increase in rare bone cancer in boys;
*continues to ignore ethics, human rights, environmental responsibility and scientific evidence;
in order to stand by the policy of water fluoridation;
is, whether consciously or not, saying the same thing.
