CELEBRATING TEN YEARS OF CARING AND CONNECTION

The FibroKnitters email list was created for fiber fanatics of all kinds (knitting, spinning, felting, weaving, crocheting, etc.) who also live with fibromyalgia and other auto-immune system diseases such as chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, etc.

We feel that it is important for people who live with chronic pain and chronic illness to have a place where they can go where their insides can match their outsides and their feelings can be expressed. This is not a "whiny" list. It is a place where people don't feel depressed by other's hard times and *do* feel buoyed by other's good times and lifted up by support expressed.

We are rounded, full people (and some of us are more rounded than others ). There are many people around who are complainers but do nothing about it. We have our beautiful crafts. We refuse to be stopped and insist on creating beauty in our lives in spite of our struggles. That makes it clear that we are "positive" people.

We also stand by others and allow pain and frustration to be expressed without judgment and recognize that the pain and frustration days are just a portion of our lives. The one that expressed pain and frustration today will be the first one to offer support next week.

We are very open to any illnesses that could be considered appropriate to this group and/or all fiber interests. Only you can decide if you belong here :)
