While this is a Families with ASD created Yahoo group, is does not mean Families with ASD agrees,or disagree with every message. This has never been an issue with our group, but has been issues in other Yahoo groups before. So, just an FYI. The more you use the group, the more interaction we will have, the more connected we will all become. Autism is now 1 in every 150 children diagnosed. We are not alone. We now have each other. Families with ASD is an Autism Spectrum Disorder Support Group for families who have been touched by Autism. We have already been keeping contact via emails, our website, www.familieswithasd.org and our monthly meetings. Our meetings are located on the east side of Cincinnati, Ohio and are geared towards the entire family. We want you to bring your children. Our meetings are very casual get-togethers. Greg and I provide a place to meet as well as drinks( coffee, water, juice, and soft drinks). Families bring a snack to share with the group (usually something their children will eat). We set the food out, the children pair off and play, and the parents get to sit back, relax and enjoy the fellowship of other parents who live with Autism 24/7. Sometimes the parents play too. We discuss therapies, medicine, doctors, IEP meetings, and sometimes we just discuss sports!! We have had guest speakers attend, and offer information about local resources.
