Dear Group!!!

Spring is almost upon us, and 5K season is coming up. It's getting
warmer, and I am going to get off my couch-potato butt and start
training for the 5K we have coming up in April. If you check out our
calendar, you can see that the Salt Lake City Marathon is in about a
month.

But even more than that, there is a 10K coming up on June 19. I have
decided that my ultimate fitness goal is to walk in the 10K (about
6.4 miles) on June 19.

I mentioned this to Elizabeth, who sort of rolled her eyes and
said, "Oh fine, now *I* have to train for the 10k!!" I assured her
she didn't, but she's the competitive sort sometimes, so we'll both
be training for this event.

I will be walking a minimum of four days per week, preferably six,
and will start with half a mile a day this week. Every week I will
increase my distance by half a mile. It works out perfectly, the
week of the 10K I will be walking that distance with no problem! (Or
so the theory goes.....)

I have found that it helps me SO much to have a fitness goal and an
activity to work towards. If any of you want to jump in and let us
know what YOUR fitness goals are, please feel free to do so.

Also, if any of you are in Salt Lake City, please check out our
website if you haven't been there lately. We have a new event
calendar up, and Elizabeth has been working on the store. You can
now pay your registration fee for 5Ks in which we will be
participating, and can register for the 5K as a member of the
FootePath team. She's added other things to the store too, so check
it out! www.footepath.org is our website.

Thanks to all of you for hanging in there through my mild depression
and inactivity, both on the board and on the streets.
