Re: The Bar has been raised

It's ironic about the "can't fire out of the stretch" part, as this is
isokinetics/(speed controlled exercise), which has historically been handled in
the exact opposite manner:very fast speed settings, thus -requiring- "firing out
of the stretch" to keep up with the machine! (Perhaps even this unit can be set
for such work.)--- In Explosive_Fitness@yahoogroups.com, Ed White

to do negatives with more force than positves.  You can't do that with weights
unless someone presses down on the bar - and then it is guesswork.

hand, but I think this is the first time McGuff used the equipment, and so, the
trainer's doing things a client -could- do after a little experience. Also, some
styles of personal training are very hands-on, keeping clients focused on pure
simple effort w/no technical distractions, but I'm not seeing anything here a
user couldn't do while working out alone.--- In Explosive_Fitness@ yahoogroups.

Statics are great, but for those of us who want maximum strength and muscle growth, the bar has just been raised. This may very well be the future of strength...

Ed, Looks very interesting - but the first thing that comes to my mind is that the additional intensity would come at the expense of heart and cardio health -...

The intensity is controlled by the trainee, which is why it is like EF/MIT.  On the concentric you push as hard as you can (or want to) through the range...

The video is amazing. The amount of effort that the man is exerting appears painful. Static contraction training is being independently tested and I am anxious...
