Re: [EvansSyndrome] Mycophenolate

I have used cellcept (mycophenolate) for the past 6 years with prednisone, since I was first diagnosed. The doctors tried to put me on Plaquenil but my blood count went way down immediately. I've had no side effects from the cellcept, but be sure to keep him out of the sun, or use some strong sun block (45spf or higher, and able to block uva and uvb rays). Hopefully the mycophenolate will help him get his numbers up. Good luck and I'll be praying for him. Jim

Subject: [EvansSyndrome] Mycophenolate

All,
The next step recommended for treatment in my 11 month old grandson is using the medication, mycophenolate.  His current treatment approach is not lifting his platelets as hoped ..  Has anyone used this medication?
