Paul,
I am sorry for your son's relapse. When my daughter came down w/ this 2 years ago at age 7...we had been swimming in a public pool once a week.We have not gone back. However she always does better in the summer, even though she swims in our private pool everyday.I think it is because there are less colds going around in the summer(I believe the colds trigger her antibodies to go into overdrive).I do think the public pool had a part in her initial trigger, because of the bacteria.I have also found that stress is a trigger w/ her as well. She broke her arm last winter and this triggered an episode.Hope you this helps!

Paul,Just to give you another perspective, my son usually does better in the summer even though he is swimming in public pools and freshwater lakes. I don't doubt that chorine could be a trigger for some people, but it just isn't a problem for my son.My son always had drops when he lost a baby tooth - I think it was either the inflammation or mild infection. He also drops when he has a sinus infection.Susan A.
