I have no doubt that my daughter's Evan's was triggered by her braces. We tried twice, 2 years apart and 2 1/2 weeks after the braces went in, the Evan's flared. Both the orthodondist and hematologist are now convinced that braces were the trigger. We don't know if she was allergic to the metal or if the inflammation that occurs initially was to blame. Braces aren't the only trigger for her either, but it was the first trigger. We couldn't risk ever trying braces again, so we just straightened her teeth using the plastic invisalign braces. She now has straight teeth and we didn't have a problem at all with the Evan's.
