Hi Everyone:
Thus far I've posted articles and links (and some other members have, too, thank you!) related to the topics of: what a restraining order is; different types of orders; how to get one in your state; tips when filling one out; what to do when one is violated; how some authorities view them safe, whereas, others view them unsafe; how to fight false restraining orders, etc. in the hopes of covering most members' queries since we have such an eclectic bunch of folks on EVA.
E.g., one member might really need one, whereas, yet another member might know it would only compound their abuser's anger or violence and choose not to get one, whereas, yet another member might be fighting a fallacious order (since abusers are notorious for making spurious allegations!), and so on. In which case, the more information given to members the greater the potential of each individual making the most informed decision for him and herself. If there's anything we've overlooked regarding this topic, please let us know!

Then sing, hearts that are full of cheer,
With never a thought of sorrow;
The old goes out, but the glad young year
Comes merrily in tomorrow.
