I don't know where or how she has to do it, BUT I DO KNOW for a FACT
that SHE is entitled to WHATEVER pension HE drew to continue for the
rest of HER life as well. They were married in excess of 20 years
and she is entitled. I KNOW this as MY own M-I-L has been drawing
her second husband's military pension since he died in the mid 70's.
She had to split it with his current wife, but when SHE died, she
got it all from there on. Regs state that you have to be married for
5-7 years(I think, don't quote me on that) for her to be eligible. I
have NO idea sa to WHO or how you have to go about it, but she IS
able to get it. I can't make that call for her as I don't have the
needed info that they will ask or else I would.
This means she ISN'T destitute, but needs to jump on this ASAP so
that his funds don't get cut off before she is placed in that
position. I am uncertain as to IF she will have to have a change or
beneficiary placed on his paperwork, but I presume he has HER as
that anyways....

Seems that things are getting more complicated than they need to be.
Just send some money in an envelope to Margie. I have the address is anyone needs it. She says she will be destitute once Earl is gone, so I would think IF a fund were set up at a bank, any excess after expenses should go to her to keep her afloat until she can get herself back together again. I know she was applying for disability and I know she has diabetes and is worried sick about money. Cold hard cash would be best, but that's just the practical me coming out. I sent her a small amount today. As I can, I will send some more.

Well, that would be a good idea if the peices weren't scattered
about. Let me see if I can remember, then we can see if we can work
something out:
1: That gold cape of his last I knew was in the possession of Ed
Watkins, who last I knew lived in Newport, KY somewhere.
2: His headpeice is still in Mom's possession, soon to be mine,
because I'm getting all his group related stuff.
3: The main half of his uniform I believe is in possession of Uncle
Walter, who is also "blaship". Walter, do you still have it?
4: He used regular cordoroy (sp?) pants with his uniform.
5: His boots are also in Mom's possession.
6: His gloves are also in Mom's possession.
7: His Klingon disruptor has been destroyed over the last few moves,
but it is easily replaced.
8: I currently own his Bat'leth (sp?), and I'll add that.
I'll check with my local bank to see what I can set up as for the
trust fund, but I don't know if they allow state by state transfers.

Hi Eddie
first off Happy birthday! Second... I consider TGen one of my good
friends. He and I used to have many conversations and he helped
mentor me in many ways. I will be unable to attend the funeral
(though i really want to) due to the fact that I have 4 small
children (the oldest one is 6) and I am in Nebraska. I cannot leave
them for very long. I will be sending something to him. I will send
money also to either an account or I can mail it directly to your
mother whichever you think is best. From what I have read so far you
have honored your father very well and continue to do so! My heart
and soul are with you and your family right now. I am also the
owner/moderator of Klingons of Kronos and if I can manage it I will
send a howling thru that group and try to coincide it with others. I
say if I can manage it only because that group is about dead right
now.
April (Jasdia_Dax)
Well I have looked into this and it is easier than I thought. A
SINGLE account can be opened through a local bank(family's choice
here) and those of us that are far away can send our donations
through our local branch of that bank to this fund(OR it can also be
linked to Pay-Pal and donations sent online then as well). There are
a few legal things that need done, such as appointing a trustee to
shepherd this account so that it won't be abused. Also all funding
for this account will be placed into one or more signature only
recipients,(meaning that only THOSE named and with signatures on
file can withdraw funds, such as Eddie OR his mom) Depending upon
the number of trustees, type of account and terms named, it can be
safeguarded rather easily to avoid any taxation troubles. It only
draws like a half percent interest so unless there is several
hundred thousand dollars in it, there shouldn't be any tax burden.
These types of accounts are usually set up for children or those
that need financial planning for the future. Trust funds should be
set up by either your family or the lawyer of record (court term) to
satisfy those needs...
That's All I could find out without setting one up myself.

Well guys, since you all have placed such wonderful suggestions to my
feet, I've come up with a list of things that may help.
1: Mom has a bank account, and while I am in Cincinnati (if I can
make it) I will discuss this possibility with her. Or you can send it
to me or my mother via mail with a card, as this is how she sends me
everything.
2: People asked for information regarding my where-abouts and for his
address. Here's what I can give you:
Margie and Earl Jones
300 University Ln. #111
Batavia, OH 45103
(513)735-4542
Edward D. Jones
81 W. Market St. #2D
Wabash, IN 46992
(260)571-4101 - This is a cel phone that costs minutes, so it may
sometimes not always work, but works for short quick conversations.
I do have two older sisters, Heather and Casey, but they have VERY
hectic schedules and I am easier to contact.
I do keep in regular contact with my mother via phone, letters, and e-
mail.
I thank you all for your help and know that it is greatly
appreciated. As I have mentioned before, I will attempt to go to any
event set up in his memory and give a speech and whatever else.

Hi Eddie,
I was just thinking about you needing a ride and realized that I do
not know where you need transportation to and from. And if I don't I
am sure others don't. If you want to let us know where you are maybe
some of us can help out.
"Happy Birthday" btw. I know that this is difficult and having a
birthday in the middle of it all is terrible. I have been through
this sort of thing before. My aunt died two days after Christmas,
also cancer, also after a very long time. If there is anything I can
do to help, I will. Let me know.

with to join us in this ceremony and acknowledge his life and his
passing to whatever existance they feel relevant. The diversity of
his interests and his beliefs tells me there will be one Greth'Lor
of a fight to decide WHO will keep his spirit and how long they may
do so....)
Funeral arrangements - The preparations have been set for his
funeral. Date and time will be posted as a special notice upon his
death. What is known is that it will be at the Dayton Veteran's
Cemetary in Dayton, OH.
( I would also like to ask for any information regarding the honor
guard for his funeral. I wish to be a pallbearer, but will concede
this honor if he has comrades that would be better suited to this
as his fellow warriors in real life. Also is there a regular 21 gun
salute associated with a normal Military burial or do we have to
organize that as well? I would like to see this done for him, as it
is WELL deserved, nay mandatory for his service to this country I
feel.)
I do not mean to give off the impression of callousness, because
it's my b-day today and this is very difficult to go through.
(You do him NO dishonor in this fashion, so do not worry over it.
It happens that he lived long enough to see it and that's a good
thing and one you should cherish for the rest of your life. As his
final present to you.)
I thank you all for your continued support.

Okay...the following are things set for the various organizations for
my father, to let everyone know what's going on. All of this data is
from what I've heard.
Klingon/Star Trek related organizations - A howling is being set at
his home BEFORE he dies and also for Dover Peace Conference.
S.C.A. - House Erschlagenhalle is supposed to have a candlelight
vigil set up for NEXT Pennsic war in his honor.
Amtgard/Rising Winds - I will be personally setting up a moment of
silence in his honor prior to the House Golden Dragon Tourney of
Heroes at Sept. Coronation. Also, I will be holding a memorial speech
at my camp at Coronation - Saturday night.
V.A. - Everyone of his friends from Safe Haven are also pulling
together to see what they can find out.
Funeral arrangements - The prepreations have been set for his
funeral. Date and time will be posted as a special notice upon his
death. What is known is that it will be at the Dayton Veteran's
Cemetary in Dayton, OH.
I do not mean to give off the impression of callousness, because it's
my b-day today and this is very difficult to go through.
I thank you all for your continued support.

I've been looking into a ride..and it's not working out. Maybe if I
can find someone to possibly give me a ride back and somehow raise
some money for myself to get on a Greyhound, I could do it that way.
But, his condition is worsening and you at most will have 2 weeks max
to sort this out.
Good luck.

Eddie:
I am trying to cordinate some people to come over to your house to
see Earl Hopefully before he goes,I'm really trying hard to do this.
I have to go back to work this week but I'm trying to communicater
with Robert to do this. A Howling at his home.
So far as the Funeral, I dont think I can be a bearer, but I will
try very hard to be there! So much to do so very little time to do
it in.
I will be in contact with you hopefully daily, isnt there anyone
in your area that can help you with a ride for your father's sake?
