I just received a call from Mary, Garland's wife. He's in the hospital and seriously ill. He has infections in his legs and groin area, and apparent kidney failure. They took him to the VA Wednesday, where he was given antibiotics for the infections and sent home. By Saturday, he was becoming delirious and eventually started to have difficulty maintaining his balance. He fell several times. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance Saturday, where they apparently decided to take a real look at him and discovered how seriously ill he really is.
