Subject: Re: neutralizing root canals to diagnose?
Philippe,
I don't know about an injection to neutralize a potential infection, but I
have had injections of marcaine (like novacaine without any preservative or
epinephrine) into the roots(?), of the teeth to see if symptoms could be
temporarily neutralized. If done correctly, it can be a good diagnostic
tool. My teeth weren't root canalled, but I have suffered from headaches for
years, and one injection into an upper right molar and my pain from headache
and shoulder completely disappeared for almost three hours. Had that tooth
extracted, and headaches became more tolerable. Had the bottom molars on
that side extracted, and headaches completely disappeared for nearly two
months. Am scheduled to have more teeth extracted in the spring - maybe all
of them, as the osteonecrosis seems to be spreading, and my teeth are
testing as either being already dead or dying.

years, and would be curious of the results of such a temporar
neutralization, if it does exist, on my headaches.
